Hampi: World of Kishkindha

Hampi

Karnataka

The ruins of Hampi span 26 sq km, showcasing temples, palaces, and remnants of the Vijayanagara Empire’s grandeur. Situated along the Tungabhadra River, its rocky terrain and lush greenery enhance its charm. The iconic Virupaksha Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, features intricate carvings and a towering gopuram. The Vittala Temple stands out with its stone chariot and musical pillars. Hampi was once a thriving hub of trade, culture, and learning, with bustling markets and vibrant life. Its giant boulders form a stunning backdrop to the ruins. Visitors can explore by foot, bicycle, or coracle rides. Capturing its essence was a challenge, but I finally achieved my dream shots for this photo story.
